Dr. Petersen's teaching is focused on helping the student develop their own relationship with the piano: each person has a different hand, body, and mind and therefore "one size fits all" teaching cannot apply. It is important to Dr. Petersen that her students feel comfortable expressing themselves at the instrument, and that above all else, they are always making music.
